How do I begin?


How do I use this site? 

First, your need to select your favorite Animal Welfare Group from our list. You may type-in an organization's name, or you can review our entire list, either page-by-page, alphabetically, or by city/state/category. Your chosen organization appears at the top of every page. You can click the "Change" button at the top of any page to return to our list of organizations. 

Next, you will go shopping. You needn't buy anything (although we hope you will). You will select an online store from our Merchant Menu, which you may browse page-by-page, alphabetically, or by keyword/category. Clicking the "i" button next to a store's name will give you information about the store and tell you how much we will donate to your chosen organization if you make a purchase. Clicking the shopping bag icon will take you directly to the store's website.      

If you make a purchase, PetAbet.com will donate money to your chosen organization in the amount indicated on our Merchant Information page for that store.

What is PetAbet.com's mission?

Our abbreviated Mission Statement:  To raise funds for organizations dedicated to helping pets in crisis. 

Our formal Mission Statement:  To provide a fundraising avenue for pet rescues, shelters, and other Animal Welfare Groups, with the ultimate purpose of helping abused, neglected and homeless pets.

How does PetAbet.com strive to complete its mission?

PetAbet.com uses the proceeds earned from this website to make monetary donations to rescues, shelters, and other Animal Welfare Groups. There are thousands of these organizations across the country, and each one works hard to help as many animals as possible, typically with very limited funds. Best of all, YOU get to choose the organizations that receive our donations!

Where did the name PetAbet come from?

The "Abet" part is a reference to helping, and the "Pet" part is a reference to, well, pets. And beyond that, we just thought it sounded good.

Will I pay more for my merchandise if I click through PetAbet's Merchant Menu to buy it?

Absolutely not!  When you select a store from our Merchant Menu, you go to that store's website. You purchase your merchandise directly from the store, not from PetAbet.com. This way, you can be assured that you are not paying higher prices for the added benefit of helping your favorite animal welfare group and the animals that they serve.

How much money will you donate to my chosen Animal Welfare Group?

The amount varies depending upon the merchant and your purchase price. Typically, the donation amount is a percentage or your purchase price before taxes, gift wrapping and shipping charges, but sometimes it's a flat fee. In order to determine this amount, simply go to our Merchant Menu and click the "i" next to any store. This will bring up a page that has the donation amount on it.

No, we cannot give a donation under this circumstance. You MUST click through PetAbet.com prior to making a purchase in order to secure a donation for your chosen Animal Welfare Group.
